Barrio chapel Carmen

Renovation of face of building, ceiling and flooring

A barrio (or barangay) is the smallest administrative division in the Philippines. In the often remote and spread out communities the chapel is not only a place of worship but an important meeting place for all kinds of neighbourhood activities. Due to widespread  poverty and the sub tropical climate the buildings quickly fall into disrepair. The flooring of this chapel was only die-pressed earth and doors and windows were not secure.

This chapel was refurbished through the efforts of Boholhilfe e.V. member Rosalyn Vorwerk.
